Victorian Pendant for Larry McQueen at Disney

The first jewelry project for Larry McQueen, the owner of The Collection of Motion Picture Costume Design was to recreate a pendant worn by Ingrid Bergman in the classic movie “Gaslight”.

Many of Mr McQueen’s costumes are on display around the world. This pendant was created to compliment his collection and was first displayed on exhibit at the Walt Disney resort in Florida.

Since there were no recorded details about this pendant we had the challenge to re-create it from scratch. To read more about our project – click here to read how this pendant was researched, designed and made by hand in our California studio.

  1. The pendant is exquisite! Too bad there wasn’t a close-up of it in the film…however, next time I see Gaslight, I’ll have a greater appreciation for it.

You know, I imagined Ingrid’s gown to be that exact shade of blue. It’s the only time I’ve ever correctly guessed the colour of a gown in a black & white film…

    1. After reading your comment it made me think of when I saw the film for the first time. I was young and I was terrified of Claude Rains.

As for the pendant being seen in the film. I have several images from the movie that show the pendant, but you are correct none of them were clear. It wasn’t until I searched the internet into the wee hours of the morning did I finally find one that it looked like the pendant from the movie. You can see them on my blog. Check it out.
